This series was created in collaboration with the furniture designer Celine (@celinedoultremont). By photographing the same lamp under different lighting conditions, the work presents multiple and sometimes contradictory impressions. Tender? Calm?Stylish? Or Unfamiliar?. As an emotionally neutral object, the lamp itself does not possess character or emotion; its shifting appearances do not arise from the object itself, but from changes in the conditions of viewing.
The artist invites viewers to consider how the environment in which art exists shapes our understanding and judgement of it. When encountering an object without a clearly defined emotional direction, do the qualities and meanings we perceive originate from the object itself, or from our own inner states as they are revealed within a specific context?
